For the Good Times: The Artistry of Kris Kristofferson, an exhibited curated by the Woody Guthrie Center® in collaboration with the GRAMMY Museum®, celebrates the multifaceted artistry of songwriter, musician, actor, and social advocate Kris Kristofferson.
Including items from the collection of Kris and Lisa Kristofferson, this exhibit celebrates his life and work and the impact his artistry had on the world. From Rhodes Scholar to Airborne Ranger to outlaw poet to actor, this Nashville renegade’s literary sensibilities were unmatched as they redefined country music through songs that were thoughtful, sensual, and raw. The exhibit includes Kristofferson’s prized Martin guitar, which is signed by a variety of artists, including Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Hoyt Axton, and many others. Also included in the exhibit are artifacts from Kristofferson’s military career (including his Army uniform), handwritten lyrics, numerous awards, photos, items from his film and music career, and personal memorabilia.
