The 6th Annual Leftover Last Waltz

The 6th Annual Leftover Last Waltz

For the 6th year we are back for our annual tradition of the Leftover Last Waltz!  In the same spirit as the original Last Waltz, this year’s Leftover Last Waltz will be a celebration of Tulsa’s music, art and culinary scene, as well as the initiatives and contributions of the Woody Guthrie Center to Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event is aimed at promoting the ideas of Woody Guthrie, whose music spoke of reality and gave a voice to an important time in American history.

The Leftover Last Waltz will take place on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 6 p.m. As it has in the past, Cain’s Ballroom will play host to an exclusive screening of The Last Waltz, by Martin Scorsese. Tickets are $40 and include a Thanksgiving meal provided by local restaurants, music from Branjae, and a screening of the film. Proceeds from the event support the Woody Guthrie Center.

Tickets are available here. More information about the event is here.

The Last Waltz documents The Band’s final performance at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, California on Thanksgiving Day, 1976. Scorsese’s camera explores and captures the emotions and interactions of the artists on stage, while offstage, his interviews with The Band’s members provides an unbelievable perspective of life on the road and The Band’s journey. With appearances by some of the most influential artists in rock n’ roll history, such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Eric Clapton, The Last Waltz presents an amazing look at one of the greatest rock n’ roll concerts of all time.
