Woody Guthrie Center Symposium – Woody, Pete, & Lead Belly: “Folk Roots & Current Events”

As part of the WGC 6th Anniversary Celebration, we will be bringing in scholars from around the world for a two-day symposium. This event will be held in the WGC Theater. Tickets for each day are $15, or $25 to attend for both days.

Day One – April 27
Woody, Pete, and Lead Belly: Folk Roots

10am – Anna Canoni (Woody’s grandaughter, Woody Guthrie Pubications) – “Marjorie Guthrie and HDSA”

11am – Tony Trischka (Award-winning five-string banjo player, friend of Pete Seeger) – “Pete Seeger at 100”

12pm – Terika Dean & Alvin Singh (Lead Belly’s family, Lead Belly Estate, Lead Belly Foundation) – “3 Friends, 1 Apartment”

1pm – Jim Brown (Emmy award winning documentary documentary director and producer) – “Documenting Woody and Pete: Unseen Interviews and Performances from 40 Years of Work”
