Donating Artifacts

Thank you for your interest in donating your personal papers and collection/s to the Woody Guthrie Center Archives. We are continuously adding new materials to our archives, to aid researchers for the future. As a non-profit organization, we do not purchase materials; rather, we rely on your generosity to help the collection grow and thrive.

All materials donated to the archives will be processed and professionally preserved according to national archival standards and a Finding Aid will be created to aid researchers in using the collection and to make it accessible to future generations of inquiring minds.

We cannot assess the value of your materials. Please contact an independent appraiser prior to donation to have the value of your items assessed should you seek a tax deduction. For a list of local appraisers please see:

If you have materials you would like to donate to the archives, please contact the Kate Blalack, the archivist, at She will work with you to identify material that fits into our Collection Development Policy, and prepare materials for transfer.

Thank you again for your interest in the Woody Guthrie Center Archives, and for assisting us with our mission to promote and perpetuate the life and legacy of Woody Guthrie, education, and social justice through the arts.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Kate Blalack, the archivist, with any questions or comments.
