Woody Guthrie Center Sixth Anniversary Celebration

Mark your calendars as we celebrate six years of Woody Guthrie’s work returning to Oklahoma.

The annual week of programs at the Center and with our community partners will take place April 22-28 featuring free music at Guthrie Green with a range of artists who carry on Woody’s message of diversity, equality and social justice.

The 2019 anniversary weekend will also include a symposium with some of the world’s top scholars on Woody, folk music and the history of social justice activism in music and art. This separate, ticketed event will be a unique opportunity to hear directly from some of those who know Woody and his work best.

The two-day symposium is scheduled for April 27 & 28 at the Fly Loft above the Woody
Guthrie Center and will take place each day before the concerts at Guthrie Green.  Ticket information coming soon.  Symposium participants scheduled are: Anna Canoni, Bob Santelli, Jeff Place, Terika Dean, Joe Klein, & Will Kaufman.
