“This Land” Photo Contest

Woody said “All yWoody Guthrie Centerou can write is what you see.” He wrote about the people and places he encountered all the way from the hills of Oklahoma to the streets of New York City.  His most famous song “This Land is Your Land” details both the beauty and injustice he witnessed happening to the American people and became an anthem for those who demanded change.
To celebrate Woody’s 102nd birthday on July 14, we invite you to participate in our photo contest: What does This Land look like to you?  Capture your land as Woody encouraged artists to do through their medium.

Submissions: Please send your photos to Info@woodyguthriecenter.org with the Subject line “Contest Submission.”  Please include your name, age, address, email, and contact phone number. All photos must be sent by Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 5:00 pm.  The top 5 finalists will be voted on via the WGC Facebook page.  The winner will be announced on Monday July 14, 2014.
Prize: The winning photo will be unveiled and hung in the Woody Guthrie Center lobby until August 22, 2014.  Also, it will be featured on the WGC website and all social media.  The winner will also receive an “Our Family” membership to the Center good for one year.
